Wildfire

a natural force
to clear debris
and sow the seed
of future growth

and yet a curse
for those who live
within its scenic
high risk realm

so others fight
to stop its spread
and risk their lives
to save the homes

one wonders if
we'll ever leave
the western woods
of fire born
