Thinking Back

I'd like to think
I had no clue
no warning sign
of what might come

twas easier
to stay the course
not rock the boat
or risk the pain

no questions asked
though many rose
nor words expressed
that should have been

and so in time
it came to be
and now I think
of what I knew
